About The Game
A forgotten island. An ancient well. A reason to go deeper.
On a forgotten isle, beneath its ancient ruins lies the Wayfell, a shifting abyss whose depths conceal forgotten relics, dangerous creatures, cryptic puzzles, and long-buried secrets.
Dive into the Wayfell to recover powerful artifacts that unlock new abilities and reveal places once beyond reach.
Explore a handcrafted world of interconnected regions, uncover hidden pathways, and piece together the isle's lost history.
As the Blight spreads from the depths, gather the souls of fallen demigods and uncover the truth behind the abyss before its corruption escapes the isle.
About Development
Wayfell is a solo-developed passion project built in Unreal Engine 5.
Inspired by classic adventure games and modern action RPGs that reward curiosity, exploration, and discovery, the game features handcrafted gameplay systems, environments, assets, and storytelling created specifically for its world and lore.
These are combined with carefully selected third-party resources that have been extensively modified to match Wayfell’s distinctive visual style and atmosphere.
Some of the custom gameplay systems developed during the project are also available for purchase on Fab.
About the Developer
Wayfell is the passion project of Justin Scott Bowen.
A solo-developed, self-funded title that brings together years of experience and inspiration from the games that shaped him. It is both a personal project and a love letter to the genre-defining titles that led him into game development.

At Halfbrick, he contributed to the global success of Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, supporting marketing and development across world-renowned brands. He later transitioned into technical art and design, where he worked on the optimisation and release of Fruit Ninja VR for Meta Quest, and was lead designer on and contributed to programming, art, and art direction for the release of Fruit Ninja VR 2 and Super Fruit Ninja for Apple Vision Pro.
After more than a decade in the industry, he made the decision to step away from studio development and pursue independent creation, focusing on a long-held idea that had been forming for years.
